All The Parts It Takes

All the Parts it Takes is a reflective novel about grief, belonging, and the search for self after loss.

Through a deeply personal journey, the story explores how we hold the past, how we make sense of what has been broken, and how healing often arrives quietly, in unexpected ways.

This is a story about returning to yourself — piece by piece.

About Kate Mayor

Whether through stories, conversations or transformational programmes, my work is rooted in a simple belief: that beneath the noise of expectation, fear and old survival patterns, each of us carries a deeper wisdom that knows the way home.

I write about the tenderness beneath the surface - the small decisions, complicated relationships and private turning points that change us in ways we don't always notice at first. I am fascinated by what happens when people begin to listen to themselves more deeply and discover that what once felt like a problem may, in fact, be a message.

As a Wayfinder, I create spaces where people can slow down, reconnect with themselves and uncover the meaning hidden within their experiences. I don't believe we need to be fixed. I believe that many of us are longing to remember who we are beneath the layers of adaptation and protection that life has required of us.

My work is for people who sense there is more to them than the roles they perform, the expectations they carry or the stories they have inherited. People who are ready to stop striving to become someone else and begin the journey back to themselves.

I live in Edinburgh with my two children, where much of my writing begins in long walks, half-formed notes and conversations that linger. When I'm not writing, I'm usually reading, walking, swimming or exploring a new corner of this immense planet, noticing the details that later find their way into my work.

Whether through a book, a workshop or a conversation, my hope is always the same: that you leave feeling less alone, more connected to yourself, and a little clearer about the path beneath your feet.
